I should be a male model

So...my Mom decided that it'd be cool to take me outside and take some pictures of me in the snow. She is obsessed with taking pictures of me! But who can blame her, I 'm a handsome guy. We got some good snow last week so I got to romp around outside with Mom and Dad. Anyways, here are some photos of me. I should be on the next cover of Men's Health! Don't you agree?

Update on my paw

So my paw's getting better! I was having some trouble getting up for a couple days, I really got mom and dad worried. I couldn't care any weight on my back hip which is weird because I didn't fall or hurt my back leg, the vet says if it isn't better in a couple days I'm gonna have to get my blood drawn (yikes!). But I'm better! I'm able to walk around fine and getting up is much better. I think I might've given my mom a heart attack when all this happened. But don't worry, I have to go back to see Dr. H on tuesday to remove my staples (yikes again!) Dad was sad because he had to go to Vegas for his bachelor party (without his best man- me!). But he's been calling everyday to check up on mom and me. So the past couple days has just been me and my mom. We've been doing alot of laying around because she wanted to let me rest - what? I'm a young boy I don't need rest! The only thing I got to do was go for a couple small walks, that's about it. Mom's been walk-stingy. Ok Ok so the best part of my update is that we finally got snow!!! Yesterday when Mom and home and let me out there was snow EVERYWHERE! I was in heaven! I was running around the backyard like a lunatic! Dad says he wishes he was here to see me play in the snow. But he'll be back tonight. Mom promises more pictures soon! If not I'll tell her to get on it.

My paw

So Mom and I went hiking today at our favorite place and it was so much fun. It was just the two of us and we got to go exploring! Well, at the end of our hike me being my adolescent, stubborn self decide to not listen to Mom and go sprinting off into the water (come on! Us newfies LOVE water!) and then into the other side of the river into the marsh. I think Mom was furious. But it was so worth it because I got to swim! So she dragged my fabulous tush back into the newf-mobile (hmmph!) and I guess my fun was over. Then she turns back and looks at me and I can see something was wrong. I heard her call Dad to tell him that I was bleeding and she comes back and examines my paw. I could see that she was scared, but I don't know why because I felt fine! Just some red stuff coming out from my paw. Then she immediately calls my vet and drove there right away. We got to be seen very quickly by Dr. Bailey and she was so nice to me. They ended up shaving my paw to see where I was bleeding from. Dr. B told Mom that I had a small laceration on my dew claw (I didn't even know I had one!) and she put 2 small staples on it. Then I got a wrap on my paw so it doesn't get dirty. They even put me on antibiotics! Geez! Well, I'm totally fine but my poor Mom was crying at the office (don't tell her I said that!). I went and gave her big kisses to let her know that I'm really okay. We came home after that and I got to chew on my big flossy and Mom gave me more hugs and kisses than she ever have before. Then Dad came home and did the same thing...gosh you guys, it's just a small paw cut!

Thanksgiving Thanks

So this is my second Thanksgiving ever...I don't quite remember the one last year because I was only a couple months old and I slept the majority of the time (not that this year was any different but at least I got to eat turkey this year!). So mom, dad and I pretty much hung out allllll day. I went for a walk with Dad while Mom was cooking all this deliciousness in the kitchen, then I pretty much just laid in the kitchen to make sure if she dropped something I'd clean it up. Tonight for din din I got my regular kibble, mixed with my usual salmon oil and this time instead of my EVO canned food I got lots of turkey!! It was SO YUMMY! Mom's the best cook. They didn't let me have anything else but that's fine by me, since I don't normally get to have what they eat. Here are some pics that my Mom, the paparazzi took me of throughout the day.

My new buddies

So mom and dad went somewhere tonight without me (the NERVE!). Mom had just fed me din din and those two snuck out and must've done something FUN because they came back with a new fish dad called a Jack Dempsey and mom brought me two new stuffies! I got a football with arms and legs that squeeks and a little gorilla that makes the coolest noises! Mom is pulling her hair out right now because she says why in the world did she buy something so loud for me. Ha! Here they are:

Mom was away this weekend for something called a bachlerette party...what?? She left me home alone with dad, which was cool cuz we did guy stuff. I got to go up to Maine and see Grammy and Grampy, hang out outside all day. I was exhausted! Nothing new and exciting to post today, hopefully I will soon!

Good day

So, I've been on house arrest for over a month with NO dog park, NO dog park, and NO DOG PARK because Mom and Dad said they noticed a slight limp in my front leg. They thought it might be me growing so tall or playing too hard with my friends so they 'thought' it'd be a good idea for me to take it easy. But for a whole month? That's like YEARS in my time. They've only been playing with me in the back yard and going for long walks...BORiNG! Since I was a young lad they started making me eat this nasty pill called Glucosamine...it just sounds yucky. Mom hides it in my food with some Evo canned food - woman thinks she's sneaky but well, actually she is because I eat it. Since there's been no dog park, Dad's been taking me swimming at my favorite lake because it's better for my joints. I looooove to swim. I can outswim Mom! I don't let her go very far because I'm afraid she'll drown so I drag her back to shore when I think it's necessary. But that'll be a whole nother post...about 'Mom's Swimming Skills'.

Well today, when Mom finally woke up I knew something was up. She was getting ready to go somewhere and she kept looking at me...then the magical words "You wanna go have some fun?" And I said to my mom "Um Mom, am I a Newfie? Of course I wanna go have some fun!" So she packs me in the truck and takes me to my favorite place to hike. It's just me and my mom. We hiked for a while I got to sniff out the WHOLE place it was terrific. She even carried my own water bottle in her back pack so when we stopped I slurped water and wiped it on her shirt. It was so fun today. And afterwards, I took a long nap. Life is good..

I'm being stalked

So my mom works 3 days a week as a nurse in some hospital. She works two 12 hour shifts and a 16 hour shift because she works a 40 hour week but doesn't want to be away 4 days out of the week so she consolidated her time to have 4 days off with yours truly. I know, I'm spoiled. So on mom's days off, she takes me out and plays with me, pretends to chase me and plays fetch. Then we go on walks, sometimes to K9 comforts for treats. But recently, she's been taking that flashy device called a 'camera' and watching my every move. When she sees me doing something she calls "cute" (soooo not manly, don't let the girls hear that), she takes a picture. She is the
WORST paparazzi ever. I feel like I'm being stalked. This picture above is me giving mom the "eye" to let her know I'm on to her. You see, us Newfies have good senses when being preyed on. Well, nap time. Falling asleep. ZzzZzzZZzzzZZZZzzz

Weekend Shaninigans

Woof! What a nice weekend it was. Mom, Dad and I were struck with a ray of sunshine both days so we took FULL advantage and hung out outside and played. I got to go on a couple car rides since they didn't want to leave me home alone, and because I like to tag along. I got to go to K9 Comforts, like my favorite place ever because that's where Mom gets my treats. Dad and I were walking around the store while Mom was picking out my bully sticks and beef tracheas...and putting it on Dad's tab. Women and their money spending. Today Dad and I raked up the yard...it is hard work! Meanwhile, a certain paparazzi was capturing the father and son moments. What a great life!

Finally a nice day

So the weather has been c-r-a-p-p-y here! So last weekend it finally was sunny with no rain or yuck and Mom and Dad took me to do my all time favorite things: swimming! They love me so much. Dad took his gatorade container and we played fetch because I'm such a good swimmer, even if the water was kind of chilly. But us Newfies can withstand the cold weather because we're the coolest (no pun intended) dogs ever! Here I am, a male model, posing for the paparazzi (my Mom).

It was my Birfday!

So wow! I woke up last week and Mom and Dad were talking secret stuff that I couldn't really hear...then they put me in the truck and off we go. We showed up at one of my favorite parks! They said it was my birfday and that Mom had to work on my REAL birfday so we celebrated it early so they could both be there. I have such cool parents! We went on this really really REALLY long hike and it was SO MUCH FUN! By the end I was so tired. I needed a hardcore Newfie nap after. Here are a couple pics from our hike:

So after frolicking in the woods with Mom and Dad, we stopped by the Barkery...like my ALL TIME FAVORITE PLACE! It was AWESOME! Kristy the owner has such a crush on me, but who doesn't? I'm totally handsome. She kept giving me treats and I was LOVING it. Then she brought out this thing called a Birfday cake. And I think it was for me! But they wouldn't let me see it until I got home.

So when we finally got home I thought I was going to be able to take my Birfday nap. But noooo. They lead me to the backyard...something fishy was going on. Then Mom puts a bib on me and then I DEFINITELY knew something was up. And I can sense it was a good thing. I was ready for it. Then Dad tried to put this ridiculous Birfday hat on me! DAD! totally cramping my style, what if girls were watching?? But all complaints stopped once I saw my birthday cake...it was heavenly.

I'm one happy Newfie after this. The cake was delicious! Mom got me peanut butter and banana cake with cream cheese frosting. She's so good to me. I was so tired after my Birfday day events. But I have to say, I had a really great time with Mom and Dad. They always say how spoiled I am, and this time, I really have to admit that I am.
